A special thank you to designer Sara Presenti at Your Inspiration Web for her thorough blog post about what NOT to do with a website. There may be a few things in here that I disagree with (and just a few), but most of what she says is spot-on. I can’t tell you how many authors I try to talk out of background music on their website or putting a hit counter at the footer (after all, Google analytics is free!).
So here it is. A long list of don’ts — not to many do’s) when it comes to web design. Please keep these in mind next time you’re thinking about building your author website.
